I’m an author-illustrator based in rural Oxfordshire, where I live with my wife, our two children, fluffy dog and well-observed rescue cat. I write and draw stories that begin with quiet details — a mitten, a pawprint, a half-glimpsed window — and follow the logic of curiosity, wonder, and unnoticed connections. My work is shaped by a background in design, a love of visual storytelling, and the extraordinary way children see the world.
Before stepping into children’s books, I spent over a decade as a senior graphic designer. I hold a BA in Animation from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, and a Masters in Illustration: Authorial Practice from Falmouth University. I'm especially interested in stories that centre emotion without preaching it, and in books that reward rereading — the ones that sit quietly on the shelf until a child chooses them again and again.
